Today’s Verse Reference: 1 Timothy 4-6
Chapter 4 Insight: Throughout this chapter Paul is writing to Timothy to be open-minded with the commandments that were from Paul as he got from Jesus his teacher that trained him to do the works of faith in everything to deserve a full acceptance of striving to follow Christ throughout to teach these things to immerse yourself in them so you may have progress to yourself and the hearers.
Chapter 5 Insight: I like in this Chapter when Paul is writing to Timothy about instructions about how the church should do it’s things to learn and show godliness to those around them. And the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.
Chapter 6 Insight: In this chapter it is stating what you have to do in the church to teach and urge with sound doctrine to teach the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and that the teaching accords with godliness so there are no quarrels about these words which could produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction amongst these people, who are depraved in mind and deprived from the truth of Christ. In the later in the chapter, I like when Paul is telling us to Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called about which you made the confession in the presence of many witnesses. I love this that we must take hold and fight the good fight of the faith deprived from the truth of Christ.
O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge” for by professing it some have swerved from the faith.
Grace be with you. 1 Timothy 6:20-21
At the conclusion of chapter 6 I love how Paul closes the chapter with saying Grace be with you, with a positive remark to close every book that he writes throughout the New Testament.
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
Joyfully In Him,
