Insight for April 27

Main Verse Reference: 1 Timothy 1:1-20

Insight from Paul in 1st Timothy 1:

As many of you know that Paul is writing a guide to his child of faith Timothy to help him throughout the struggles of life in the tough times, and when he is on the mission field to beware of false teachers that he may come across throughout his walk with Jesus Christ, and his teacher Paul.

I love when Paul closes his books up with the saying “Grace be with you”. That gives me an eyesight because I know that I am truly a bond servant of Christ and truly his, and lean onto Him for comfort and peace throughout the tough times in life as we might encounter False teachers in our lives who might go against what God has to say to us and use scripture out of context. But in scripture from one of his books in 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

He urges Timothy his bond servant to go to Macedonia, and remain at Ephesus so that Paul may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than stewardship from God that is by faith. The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. I love at this point of 1st Timothy when Paul is giving these words to Timothy to use throughout his teachings to the many people that he might come in contact with throughout Macedonia and Ephesus.

A verse that is so powerful is at 1 Timothy 1:8-10: Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is laid down for just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. Paul in these verses is telling us not to live sexual immoral to sin to ungodliness, and uncleanliness for the heart of someone who is living in sin.

Another verse reference that is really good is from one of Paul’s other books in the New Testament; 1st Thessalonians 4:3 “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor. Basically to be clean of the ungodliness that might creep into your heart or mind that might take over from your relationship with God.

Even in the midst of the storm God is with us, but he cannot take away the mercies and the grace that He has for our life in the midst of the pandemic that we are currently going through as a whole. Right now we cannot have large gatherings at church, or public places, get together’s, etc. You name it. We even have to wear masks in the public while we go to the grocery store, or while we go to retail. And we have to limit the number of people that are in the retail store, or grocery store. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel once this quarantine is lifted and things are back to normal to the way they were before when this all happened just about a month ago. But don’t lose hope or sight even in the midst of the pandemic which may bring hardship or pain, and lean onto God for your calling and purpose in your life during this time of quarantine that he may use you to draw you closer to Him so he may use you to do the unexpected.
