As I write this I think of the day that I accepted to get baptized by Pastor Joey, and I still remember that day clearly getting asked the question by Joey “Do you believe in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, and do you intend to follow him all of the days of your life, Yes now I baptize you my Christian brother in the Name of the Father and the Holy Spirit buried within Baptism given new life.” After my baptism I went on my first missions trip to Chicago and working with DOOR and doing evangelistic work like going to a church and doing VBS, going to the Salvation Army and cleaning their rooms and working at a garden in the city, and packing at least 750 boxes of food for the homeless of Chicago, but the first day when we got to Chicago I remember going to White Castle and their security system went on and asked them if they were ok, I felt like God was in the place at that time. Through the end of the missions trip one of our team leaders hit his head and we prayed for him as a group, and we went to Cedar Point amusement park in the morning to go have fun and do some meditation from our week. Throughout my life stuff has changed and i have been seeing things more clearly like working in Riva Kidz with AWANAs and Youth Group on Sunday nights, and working at church during the week and on Sunday mornings running video, and I also serve at Vacation Bible School and Eggstravaganza and other church events and usually work in the booth or photograph, I recently started taking more pictures in our Boy Scout Troop to create a history and memorabilia, which has helped me see more things clearly in a different perspective.
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
Colossians 3:15 NKJV
I am thankful for everyone who has helped me be a better believer in Jesus and held me accountable for my wrongdoings that I should have God rule in my heart and not myself or anybody else. I am also thankful for a good church with great people and the many ministries that I can be apart of on my continued spiritual journey with Christ to better understand him better to share it with someone who doesn’t know the Lord.
In Him,
Ian M.
